With over two decades of legal experience, Stancey combines a deep understanding of the law with a client-focused approach, ensuring that each matter is handled with the utmost professionalism and care.

Stancey began her legal career as a Taxing Master at the Johannesburg Central Magistrates’ Court, gaining valuable insight into the judicial process. She later completed her B Proc degree through the University of South Africa and went on to serve her articles at a prestigious Johannesburg law firm, where she was admitted as an attorney in 2000. She quickly rose to the position of Director, honing her expertise across various legal disciplines.

In 2015, Stancey founded BMI Attorneys with a vision of delivering exceptional legal services tailored to the diverse needs of individuals, local businesses, and international corporations. Her dedication to providing practical and strategic advice has earned her a reputation for excellence both locally and abroad.

Stancey holds the right of appearance in the High Court and is also a certified mediator, reflecting her commitment to resolving disputes efficiently and amicably where possible.

Outside of her legal practice, Stancey values spending quality time with her family, cultivating her passion for cooking, and delving into books on history and prominent historical figures. Her interest in history reflects a keen appreciation for context, strategy, and the lessons of the past—qualities that inform her thoughtful and meticulous approach to the law.

Before embarking on his legal career, Robert gained valuable experience in the IT and Events industries, where he developed a strong foundation in compliance and client relations. Inspired by a passion for both the law and working with people, Robert completed his LLB degree through the University of South Africa. He served his articles at a distinguished Family Law firm in Sandton, where he cultivated a deep understanding of Family Law matters.

Admitted as an attorney in 2020, Robert joined BMI Attorneys as an associate in 2021. Since then, he has successfully facilitated numerous divorce matters to conclusion while also expanding his expertise in Commercial Law and Debt Collection. His practical and client-focused approach ensures that matters are resolved efficiently and effectively.

In 2024, Robert gained the right of appearance in the High Court, further enhancing his ability to represent clients in complex legal matters. Robert’s diverse professional background and dedication to his craft allow him to navigate legal challenges with a balanced, results-oriented perspective.

Outside of the office, Robert enjoys spending quality time with his family and pursuing hands-on challenges through DIY projects—some more successful than others. A keen sports enthusiast, he can often be found watching cricket and rugby, appreciating the strategy and teamwork that these games inspire. Robert also nurtures a lifelong fascination with aviation, reflecting his curiosity and drive to understand complex systems and ideas.
